1. Do you accept online submittals?

Yes, Building and Safety accepts online submittals for residential solar, HVAC systems, re-pipes, reroofs, retrofit windows/doors and electrical panel upgrades. Please follow the link here to the City of Laguna Niguel eTrakit online permitting system for online submittals. 

2. What is the turnaround time for building permit plan check review?

Plan check review for building permits take a total of 10 business days for first submittals, resubmittals take a total of 5 business days.

3. How do I schedule a building inspection?

Building inspections can be scheduled via our online permitting system here, or call (949) 362-4381. The inspections schedule is updated daily at 8a.m. and can be viewed here. If you need to cancel or reschedule a same day inspection, please call (949) 362-4334.

4. Does the City of Laguna Niguel have copies of my original home plans?

If your home was built after city incorporation (1989), it is possible that the city of Laguna Niguel has original copies of your original home plans. Please send original home plan requests to the Building Division via email at BPermit@cityoflagunaniguel.org.

5. What are the hours for construction noise?

7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No construction noise is permitted on Sundays or Federal Holidays.  Complaints can be submitted to code@cityoflagunaniguel.org
