The proposed downtown project will go back out for public bid for a new real estate developer, according to Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett. Supervisor Bartlett announced late last year that despite a two-year effort to reach an agreement with Lab Holding, the developer’s “Best and Final Offer” did not meet the County’s performance and financial requirements. Therefore, the County Board of Supervisors voted to initiate a new Request for Proposals (RFP) process to solicit new bids.
The undeveloped property, which is owned by the County and currently contains a former courthouse, is located directly behind Laguna Niguel City Hall near Town Center Drive and Alicia Parkway. Firms interested in receiving more information about the RFP and/or interested in submitting a proposal may contact Yasie Malek at the County Executive Office, Real Estate, at (714) 834-3763.
