The Planning Division's primary responsibilities include the implementation of the City's General Plan and Zoning Ordinance and the management of development in the City. This includes processing of land use and development applications for review by the City Council or Planning Commission. Planners also review administrative permits for signs and landscaping. Planners are also responsible for processing environmental documents, ensuring the compatibility of proposed projects with existing development, and preparing long-range policy documents.
