SCE Street Light Replacement

Southern California Edison (SCE) upgraded their high pressure sodium vapor street lights with energy efficient LED light fixtures. This joint effort between the City of Laguna Niguel and SCE replaced approximately over 700 existing street lights that are owned and operated by SCE.  The new LED street lights will result in energy cost savings, reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint and direct more light to the ground than the sky. The new LED street lights will also exude warm white and crisp color, which can enhance safety in the community by providing better visibility and color perception.

The new lights were replaced by skilled electrical workers, who removed the old fixtures and replaced them with a new integrated LED fixture. Each fixture was meticulously wired into the electrical feed and mounted on the mast arm of the streetlight. Each new light was leveled and tested for functionality before crew members moved to the next light. 

Reporting an Issue

To report an issue or concern with a street light, residents can visit sce.com -OR- call (800) 611-1911. Please be prepared to enter an address and, if possible, the pole tag number that is on the light about six feet up from the ground on the street side of the pole. Residents may also submit a Service Request Form.
