Community Grants Program
Overview

Each year, the Laguna Niguel City Council provides funding for Community Services and Cultural Arts grants, and Community Special Event grants. These funds are allocated by the City Council in recognition of the important role that the many human service organizations and cultural programs play within the community. 

Grants are available to non-profit organizations only and must provide services in Laguna Niguel for Laguna Niguel residents and/or provide services for students attending schools that serve Laguna Niguel residents.

The grant application period is typically in August.  Please see below for the latest information.  All requests for funds are considered and reviewed by a City Council subcommittee, which makes recommendations to the full City Council.  Final grant awards are typically considered by the City Council in October/November.



Grant Program for FY 2016/2017

The Grant Application Deadline for the Fiscal Year 2016/2017 City Council Community Services and Cultural Arts and Community Special Events Grant Programs was September 2, 2016.  For Fiscal Year 2016/2017, a total of $22,000 has been allocated for Community Services and Cultural Arts grants.  A total of $15,000 has been allocated for Community Special Event grants.

Thank you to all the organizations that submitted an application this year.  It is anticipated that the City Council will make their decision on funding allocations sometime in mid October.  Applicants will be notified of their grant application status following the City Council action.
