Invest in Your Community
Do you want to invest in your community? Then join the many Laguna Niguel residents who currently volunteer in City programs and/or activities. If you are: 
  • Interested in participating in local policy decision-making.
  • Concerned about Community Safety.
  • Attracted to the outdoors and would like to help with recreational camps, programs or activities.

Then, we need you! No matter your age or interests, you have a valuable role to play in our community. Make your selection from the links below for more information on how you can you can get involved!


In addition, there are many service clubs and charity organizations that offer volunteer opportunities. This list is not all of the opportunities available and may be updated periodically. 

Laguna Niguel Botanical Preserve

The Botanical Preserve’s primary goals and objectives are to display garden-worthy plants appropriate to the Southern California region, collected from five areas of the world with similar Mediterranean climates.   We demonstrate the appropriate use of drought-tolerant plants, introduce unusual plant species to the public, and provide a park-like setting for the use and enjoyment of the community.

Volunteer Requirements 
  • Children 12 & under must be accompanied by adult.  
  • Children under 18 must have waiver signed by parent or guardian. 
  • Wear old shoes, gardening clothes and sunscreen.

Volunteer Requirements 
  • The position is best suited for students with interests or backgrounds in: Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Public Affairs, Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy, History, Social Ecology, Criminal Justice or related fields. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to research information, prepare reports and provide correspondence; experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and works independently. 
  • Assist in day-to-day office operations: prepare letters, memos, certificates and reports; perform research assignments and special projects; analyze policy; and attends meetings or community events.

American Legion Auxiliary of Laguna Niguel, Unit 281

Our mission is to support our veterans through education, financial support, and support of Girls State.   We support our veterans by providing bingo for patients at the Long Beach Veterans' Hospital.

Our organization is a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.
